If you can believe it, today is my 30th birthday. If you follow the forums, you'll know I'm officially too old for business school. However, if MBAover30 has proven anything though, it's that 30 can still be the golden years, even for business school applicants! It's crazy that a year ago today, I had never even considered getting a graduate degree; more than that, I would have laughed you out of the building if you suggested it. Here I am, 30 years old, an elder amongst 20-something boys and girls. Humor an old man, sit by the fire, and listen as I impart my 30 bits of wisdom for thee!

I haven't even started business school and I'm aflutter with new ideas and ambitions. The past two weeks have launched me into the next stage of my business school path: the Network. And I am already blown away by the opportunities and connections buzzing around me. If the events I've attended and the people I've spoken with are any indication of things to come, I can only imagine the extent I will grow and change during business school.

Today officially marks the end of my application process. When I began my applications back in July, I knew that January 10 would be the Day of Days, the date by which all my target schools would have notified me of their love or hate of me. And so it is, with a waitlist notification from Berkeley today, I am on the top of the hill, looking back on my uphill trek to attain admission. With that world behind me, I finally begin looking forward as I begin my descent toward my Dream MBA Campus.
